نه. condolence درسته برای تسلیت و این شباهت کلمات هم معنی و آواهاشون در ذهن وقتی زمان زیادی از یک کلمه ی خاص استفاده نشده باشه تو ذهن یک کلمه ی مشابه تداعی می شه که شاید کلاً اشتباه باشه. مثل اینکه کسی تربیت و ترتیب رو قاطی کنه. در حقیقت نمی شد consolation رو اینجا استفاده کرد. شما حتماً به معنی فارسیش نگاه کردید.
