We are here in English Forum to talk about this quotation from Albert Einstein:

"Weakness of attitude becomes weakness of character."

What do you think about it?

I just took a look and found something to mention as below:

Character is a personality that is formed in other’s brain from you

Character is a personality which is formed in someone else"s mind about you.

There is a distinct difference between "brain" and "mind". I think you were supposed to remark mind not brain.

You implant an act in other"s eyes

You do an act in front of others

Apart from the meaning of implant in medicine, you can implant your attitudes in your children! It means that you fix your ideas in their mind!

So, you do an act and implant an attitude!

When you grow implant a rice, you cant expect that grow an apple

When you grow rice, you can’t expect to harvest an apple!

Rice is uncountable! and don"t use implant for plants please. The verb "grow" is also correct to say that the plant would become bigger but you need to change the syntax. So, it would be easier to use "harvest". Am I right?

These were only my suggestions. Please correct me if I"m wrong. Thanks

Thank you dear botanist for your presence and the great speech you gave.

You told about a saying from Imam Ali (a.s.), actually I looked for it on the net and couldn"t find the exact one you meant but arrived to the following saying which you mentioned amidst your speech

"By keeping company of good people you will develop goodness in your character and by avoiding the society of wicked person you will abstain from wickedness" link

I’d like to add some comments too:

1. Some interesting collocations, I learned them for the first time, thank you

"Rang a bell with me" which means "reminded me of something"

"Take something as an example" which "take" here means "assume"

2. I really passed the opportunity!

Dear botanist, can you explain about the meaning of pass here? I think it is not common.

3. Personality that is thought of you by others

Thought of you by others is not a common sentence. The example below shows a common way of saying so:

Others" thoughts of you do not affect your happiness. Only your thoughts about their thoughts affect how you feel.

Actually the points are much and the time is less.

Surely I will try to write more and will be happy to see your comments too

I"m glad to hear from you and thank you for your comments. Honestly, I missed "up" in that sentence. As you know, pass up a chance or an opportunity means to fail to take advantage of something.

As for Imam Ali"s wise saying, I just browsed on the net for the Persian one. Antway, I was leery of writing, because I"m not certain of the writer!

Actually I didn’t know about "pass up a chance/opportunity", that is a great collocation indeed.

The wise saying that you provided, indicate that the character formation is a process starting from our thoughts and ending in our character. The third part shows importance of habits because they are the habits that make our character. So we should pay so much attention to the attitude at first and then what we say and finally what we do regularly.
