Hello everybody
This is not an assignment,
but i just saw it and thought it could be interesting to share with you. This
is written by a fellow Iranian-American and there should be no problem for you
understanding the whole text.
Have a look into that and
ask if any phrase/sentence seems to be tough.
1. I was born and raised in Ft. Collins, CO and moved here when i was 15
2. I can drink a gallon of Arizona green tea in 1 day
3. When i was little, i wanted to grow up and be Leila Forouhar
4. I have an "allergic reaction" to the song from Fardin"s "Soltane
Ghalbha". If i so much as hear 2 sec of it, i"ll be in tears
immediately.
5. i have a huge worm phobia
6. the besttt edible thing in the whole world is Albaloo!! i love it more than ANYTHING else <3
7. i have a little scar on my chin from when i tried shaving at the age
of 2. guys, don"t shave in front of your kids. if they"re fuzool like
me, they"ll try doing it.
8. i"ve been a Lakers fan since i lived in CO and i HATE bandwagoners, they"re just as bad as haters.
9. i tore a ligament in my thumb in the summer of "07 in Karate class. to this day, it"ll still randomly hurt at times.
10. i have a majorr chapstick addiction
11. my grandfather on my mom"s side has over 170 published works (books
and documents) and his books are studied in Farsi Literature classes in
the Universities in Iran.
12. i LOVE reading and my favorite author is James Patterson. i have over 40 of his books.
13. i can speak 3 languages: english, farsi, and azeri
14. i taught Ali G, my little bro, to play basketball when he was little and now he can kick my butt. it makes me so proud
15. i reread books. i"ve read each Harry Potter (except the 7th) at least 6 times. i"ve only read the 7th 3 times
16. My favorite brand is Guess and i alwayss have at least one article of Guess on, be it shoes, bag, watch or jewelry
17. i"ve been in the operating room during the removal of a piece of
fish bone that had been in a guy"s hand for over a year and had gotten
infected. needless to say, i almost passed out... quite disgusting.
18. i will not, under any circumstances (save ABSOLUTEEE starvation),
eat khoreshte bamiye, khoreshte karafs, khoreshte havij, or Hatam"s
ghorme sabzi, and i will only eat koobideh if i have no other option
19. i live less than a mile from Jay Leno in 1 direction and from the Kardashian stores in the other
20. i"m a huge tree hugger and it pains me to see people throw away recyclables. Go Green!!
21. at the age of 13, i was 30 lbs heavier than i am now
22. my favorite color is turquiose
23. i eat sweet and salty things together. for example: i"ll have a
donut with chips, or popcorn and chocolate, or raisins and cashews, or
cake and chips. i dont like to have one without the other. ya, its
kinda weird...
24. i have a "hate list" of a few specific players in the NBA. topped
by, Raja Bell (for almost killing kobe a couple seasons back), Paul
Pierce (for being a baby), and Shaq (no comment necessary)
25. i"ve had very many near death experiences as a child. its quite a wonder i"m still alive
