ONE OF THE BEST STORIES I"VE EVER HEARD!

As she stood in front of her 5th grade class on the very first day of school, she told the children an untruth. Like most teachers, she looked at her students and said that she loved them all the same. However, that was impossible, because there in the front row, slumped in his seat, was a little boy named Teddy Stoddard.

Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed that he did not play well with the other children, that his clothes were messy and that he constantly needed a bath. In addition, Teddy could be unpleasant. It got to the point where Mrs. Thompson would actually take delight in marking his papers with a broad red pen, making bold X"s and then putting a big "F" at the top of his papers.

At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each child"s past records and she put Teddy"s off until last. However, when she reviewed his file, she was in for a surprise.

Teddy"s first grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is a bright child with a ready laugh. He does his work neatly and has good manners... he is a joy to be around.."

His second grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is an excellent student, well liked by his classmates, but he is troubled because his mother has a terminal illness and life at home must be a struggle."

His third grade teacher wrote, "His mother"s death has been hard on him. He tries to do his best, but his father doesn"t show much interest, and his home life will soon affect him if some steps aren"t taken."

Teddy"s fourth grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is withdrawn and doesn"t show much interest in school. He doesn"t have many friends and he sometimes sleeps in class."

By now, Mrs. Thompson realized the problem and she was ashamed of herself. She felt even worse when her students brought her Christmas presents, wrapped in beautiful ribbons and bright paper, except for Teddy"s. His present was clumsily wrapped in the heavy, brown paper that he got from a grocery bag. Mrs. Thompson took pains to open it in the middle of the other presents. Some of the children started to laugh when she found a rhinestone bracelet with some of the stones missing, and a bottle that was one-quarter full of perfume. But she stifled the children"s laughter when she exclaimed how pretty the bracelet was, putting it on, and dabbing some of the perfume on her wrist. Teddy Stoddard stayed after school that day just long enough to say, "Mrs. Thompson, today you smelled just like my Mom used to."

After the children left, she cried for at least an hour. On that very day, she quit teaching reading, writing and arithmetic. Instead, she began to teach children. Mrs. Thompson paid particular attention to Teddy. As she worked with him, his mind seemed to come alive. The more she encouraged him, the faster he responded. By the end of the year, Teddy had become one of the smartest children in the class and, despite her lie that she would love all the children the same, Teddy became one of her "teacher"s pets.."

A year later, she found a note under her door, from Teddy, telling her that she was the best teacher he ever had in his whole life.

Six years went by before she got another note from Teddy. He then wrote that he had finished high school, third in his class, and she was still the best teacher he ever had in life.

Four years after that, she got another letter, saying that while things had been tough at times, he"d stayed in school, had stuck with it, and would soon graduate from college with the highest of honours. He assured Mrs. Thompson that she was still the best and favourite teacher he had ever had in his whole life.

Then four more years passed and yet another letter came. This time he explained that after he got his bachelor"s degree, he decided to go a little further. The letter explained that she was still the best and favourite teacher he ever had. But now his name was a little longer.... The letter was signed, Theodore F. Stoddard, MD.

The story does not end there. You see, there was yet another letter that spring. Teddy said he had met this girl and was going to be married. He explained that his father had died a couple of years ago and he was wondering if Mrs. Thompson might agree to sit at the wedding in the place that was usually reserved for the mother of the groom. Of course, Mrs. Thompson did. And guess what? She wore that bracelet, the one with several rhinestones missing. Moreover, she made sure she was wearing the perfume that Teddy remembered his mother wearing on their last Christmas together.

They hugged each other, and Dr. Stoddard whispered in Mrs. Thompson"s ear, "Thank you Mrs. Thompson for believing in me. Thank you so much for making me feel important and showing me that I could make a difference."

Mrs. Thompson, with tears in her eyes, whispered back. She said, "Teddy, you have it all wrong. You were the one who taught me that I could make a difference. I didn"t know how to teach until I met you."

(For you that don"t know, Teddy Stoddard is the Dr. at Iowa Methodist in Des Moines that has the Stoddard Cancer Wing.)

I love this story so very much, I cry every time I read it.

Random acts of kindness, I think they call it!

WHEN A LIZARD CAN, WHY CAN"T WE?
This is a true story that happened in Japan .

In order to renovate the house,

someone in Japan breaks open the wall.

Japanese houses normally have a hollow space between the wooden walls.

When tearing down the walls, he found that there was a lizard stuck there

because a nail from outside hammered into one of its feet.

He sees this, feels pity, and at the same time curious, as when he checked the nail,

it was nailed 10 years ago when the house was first built.

What happened?

The lizard has survived in such position for 10 years!!!!!!! !!!

In a dark wall partition for 10 years without moving, it is impossible and mind-boggling.

Then he wondered how this lizard survived for 10 years!!! Without moving a single step--since its foot was

nailed!

So he stopped his work and observed the lizard, what it has been doing, and what and how it has been eating.

Later, not knowing from where it came appears another lizard, with food in its mouth.

Ah! He was stunned and touched deeply.

For the lizard

That was stuck by nail, another lizard has been feeding it for the past 10 years...

Imagine? it has been doing that untiringly for 10 long years, without giving up hope on its partner.

Think, will u do that to your partner?

Think that will you do it to your Mom,

Who brought you after a big struggle of nine long months?

Or at least to your Dad, Friends, Co-workers, brothers and Sisters?

Imagine what a small creature can do that a creature blessed with a brilliant mind can"t.

As information and communication technology advances,

our access to information becomes faster and faster.

But the

Distance between human beings . . . is it getting closer as well?

Please never abandon your loved ones

Never Say U R Busy When They Really Need You ...

You May Have The Entire World At Your Feet.....

But You Might Be The Only World To Them....

A Moment of negligence might break the very heart which loves you thru all odds..

Before you say something just remember…It takes a moment to Break but an entire life to make...

Then Life would be a paradise Unfurling only Love Joy and
Happiness... ..

There"s a story about a woman who did not keep a tidy house. One day someone gave her a beautiful rose which she brought home and put in a vase in her parlour.
The rose, though, showed up the vase which was tarnished and dusty, so she polished the vase and set the rose and vase on the table.

But now something was wrong with the table. It looked terrible. It had to be cleaned as well. At last the woman stood back and admired the sparkling table,
the polished vase, and the beautiful rose.

But to her dismay, the whole parlour now seemed dull and murky.
Before she knew it, she found herself scrubbing the walls, washing the curtains, and opening the windows to let light and air into every dark corner.

The moral of the story is if you make one small change in your life,
light up one small corner, in no time your whole life can take on a different look. If you"re dissatisfied with your life at this point, give some serious consideration to that one area you could change.

"It"s not just marriage. It"s an adventure"

Since our wedding day, I have changed in many ways, which can be traced directly back to my wife"s influence, such as:

- I now squeegee the shower doors after a shower.  Of course, it takes a little longer than that to explain to my guy friends why I do.

- I don"t sleep on the pillow shams.  Before marriage, I didn"t know what a pillow sham was.  Now, I do.  And, I"m better off for it.

- I no longer fold the towels in half.  My wife taught me to do it in thirds to take up less space in the linen closet.  Thanks, honey.

- I used to invite guys over to watch a football game, not thinking about refreshments.  Now, we clean the house and make asparagus rolls beforehand.  And, I always thought a new bag of Doritos was extravagant.

- Before marriage, I used simple color descriptions for clothes, like beige and red.  Now, I call them marooned sand pebble and crimson autumn apple.

- I now know where the heavy whipping creme is in the grocery store.  Enough said.

- I"d much rather drive our minivan than a 2002 Metallic Blue Porsche 911 Turbo.  Send help.

- I know where to buy a loofah.

- I know that the only similarity between diamonds and diamonique is the first six letters.

- I know that the guest towels are never used, not even by guests.  Go figure.

- Because my wife likes to dance, I now know that a grand jete isn"t something you get at Starbucks.

- Finally, before marriage, I didn"t know how to wrap gifts, make a grilled cheese sandwich, or iron.  Now, I do.  Kind of.

So, in looking back, marriage has been a wondrous, magical boot camp. And, now I"m a lean, mean domestic machine.

As I said before, send help.  Fast.

A man arrived at a village announced that he would buy monkeys for $10.

The villagers knew there were many monkeys in the forests nearby and
started catching them.

The man bought thousands at $10 and, as supply started to diminish,
the villagers stopped their efforts.

The man next announced that he would now buy monkeys at $20.

This got the villagers interested and again they started catching monkeys.

Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back
to their farms.

The man increased the rate to $25 but by now, it was an effort to even
see a monkey, let alone catch it.

The man then announced that he would buy monkeys at $50. However, he
said, he had to go to the city on some business, so his assistant
would now buy his behalf.

After the man went, his assistant told the villagers, "Look at all
these monkeys in the cage that my boss has collected. I will sell them
to you at $35 and when my boss returns, you can sell it back to him
for $50."

The villagers squeezed out all their savings and bought all the monkeys.

They never saw the man or his assistant ever again.

Only monkeys everywhere.......

Welcome to the stock market!!!

An amazing Love Story

He met her on a
party. She was so outstanding, many guys chasing after

her, while he so normal, nobody paid attention
to him. At the end of the

party, he invited her
to have coffee with him, she was surprised, but

due

to being polite, she promised. They sat in a
nice coffee shop, he was

too

nervous to say anything, she felt uncomfortable,
she thought, please,

let

me go
home.... suddenly he asked the waiter. "would you
please give me

some salt? I"d like to put it in my coffee."

Everybody stared
at him, so strange! His face turned red, but still, he

put the salt in his coffee and drank it. She
asked him curiously; why

you have this hobby? He replied: "when I was a
little boy, I was living near

the sea, I like
playing in the sea, I could feel the taste of the sea,

just like the taste of the salty coffee. Now
every time I have the salty

coffee, I always
think of my childhood, think of my hometown, I miss my

hometown so much, I miss my parents who are
still living there". While

saying that tears
filled his eyes. She was deeply touched.

That"s his true feeling, from the
bottom of his heart. A man who can

tell

out his homesickness, he must be a man who loves
home, cares about home,

has responsibility of
home. Then she also started to speak, spoke about

her faraway hometown, her childhood, her family.
That was a really nice

talk, also a beautiful
beginning of their story.

They continued
to date. She found that actually he was a man who meets
all

her demands; he had tolerance, was kind hearted,
warm, careful. He was
such a good person but she
almost missed him! Thanks to his salty
coffee!
Then the story
was just like every beautiful love story , the princess

married to the prince, then they were living the
happy life... And,
every

time
she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee e,
as she

knew that"s the way he liked it.

After 40 years,
he passed away, left her a letter which said: "My

dearest,

please forgive me, forgive my whole life lie.
This was the only lie I

said
to
you---the salty coffee. Remember the first time we dated? I
was so
nervous at that time, actually I wanted some
sugar, but I said salt It

was

hard for me to change so I just went ahead.I
never thought that could be

the start of our
communication! I tried to tell you the truth many times

in my life, but I was too afraid to do that, as
I have promised not to

lie

to
you for anything..

Now I"m dying, I
afraid of nothing so I tell you the truth: I don"t like

the salty coffee, what a strange bad taste.. But
I have had the salty

coffee for my whole life!
Since I knew you, I never feel sorry for

anything I do for you. Having you with me is my
biggest happiness for my

whole life. If I can
live for the second time, still want to know you

and

have you for my whole life, even though I have to
drink the salty coffee

again".

Her tears made
the letter totally wet.Someday, someone asked her:
what"s

the taste of salty coffee?

It"s sweet. She
replied.

Love is
not 2 forget but 2 forgive, not 2 c but 2 understand, not 2
hear
but 2 listen, not 2 let go but 2 HOLD ON !!!!

Don"t ever leave
the one you love for the one you like, because the one
you like will leave you for the one they love.

Find
a guy, who calls you beautiful instead of hot.

Who calls you back when you hang up on him.

Who will stay awake just to watch you sleep.

Wait for the guy who kisses your forehead.

Who
holds your hand in front of his friends.

Wait
for the one who is constantly reminding you of how much he

cares about you and how lucky he is to have you.

Wait for the one who turns to his friends and
says, "...that"s her."

A Beautiful Heart

heart

The more hurt and pain you have gone thru in life, the stronger and more

beautiful your heart will be.....

One day a young man was standing in the middle of the town proclaiming that he had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley.

A large crowd gathered and they all admired his heart for it was perfect. There was not a mark or a flaw in it. Yes, they all agreed it truly was the most beautiful heart they had ever seen. The young man was very proud and boasted more loudly about his beautiful heart.

Suddenly, an old man appeared at the front of the crowd and said, "Why your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine." The crowd and the young man looked at the old man"s heart. It was beating strongly, but full of scars, it had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in, but they didn"t fit quite right and there were several jagged edges. In fact, in some places there were deep gouges where whole pieces missing.

The people stared. How can he say his heart is more beautiful?? they thought. The young man looked at the old man"s heart and saw its state and laughed. "You must be joking," he said. "Compare your heart with mine, mine is perfect and yours is a mess of scars and tears."

"Yes," said the old man, "Yours is perfect looking but I would never trade with you. You see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love - I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a piece of their heart which fits into the empty place in my heart, but because the pieces aren"t exact, I have some rough edges, which I cherish, because they remind me of the love we shared. Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart away, and the other person hasn"t returned a piece of his heart to me. These are the empty gouges - giving love is taking a chance. Although these gouges are painful, they stay open, reminding me of the love I have for these people too, and I hope someday they may return and fill the space I have waiting. So now do you see what true beauty is?"

heart

The young man stood silently with tears running down his cheeks. He walked up to the old man, reached into his perfect young and beautiful heart, and ripped a piece out. He offered it to the old man with trembling hands.

The old man took his offering, placed it in his heart and then took a piece from his old scarred heart and placed it in the wound in the young man"s heart. It fit, but not perfectly, as there were some jagged edges.

The young man looked at his heart, not perfect anymore but more beautiful than ever, since love from the old man"s heart flowed into his.

They embraced and walked away side by side.
